Paper Moon

A band largely made up of Blueskin Bay residents is leaving the confines of their home in Waitati, New Zealand to embark on an extensive tour of Dunedin Folk Clubs. Normally heard in Waitati’s premiere venue, the Blueskin Gallery and Café, Paper Moon did tour Oamaru for the second time in March 2023 entertaining people at the Harbour Street Jazz and Blues Festival.

The lineup consists of five people. Sue Bourne the main singer is formerly of the Riverside Jazz Band, Retford, UK. P.J.Clarke guitar, harmonica and vocals, previously of the Stewart Island’s Ebbtide Eddy and the Earwigs, The Treefellers, Steampie and active in acapella choir the Waitati Warblers. Steve Bourne on bass guitar and vocals from The New Stompers [Yorkshire based but nevertheless, recording stars of Abby Road Studios London, England], Nurke Wildebeeste and the Mutations and Superglue. Kevin Finnigan will bring his drums, from The Dunedin City Jazz Orchestra and other combos too numerous to keep track of. Bernard Madill from among others Blind, Bearded and Bald, Lost in the Bush, Polymorphic Ensemble and the Bank of New South Wales Chamber Music Competition 1971, will also bring his guitar and an amp. All this is hard to believe we know but entirely true. Paper Moon will perform a repertoire of jazz standards, folk blues and popular music.
