Shaky Hollows and Jared Smith
Formed in February 2022 by songwriter Casey Hilder, Shaky Hollows have been busy crafting an album's worth of original, wistful alt-country tunes. With a traditional five-piece line-up, featuring David Lennon on double bass, Luca Gray on banjo/mandolin, Holly Williams fiddle & backup vocals and Jared Smith on lead guitar & back up vocals. This means the group also includes rich three part harmonies.
Hilders' songs have a raw country/folk quality with honest and vulnerable autobiographical lyrics that complement the melancholic atmosphere of the music.
This will be Shaky Hollows debut at the Dunedin Folk Club - please give them a warm welcome :)
Up first will be Jared Smith. Smith has been a fixture on the Dunedin music scene for many years. He has played and supported a multitude of different bands over the last 15 years releasing various albums and EPs. This evening Smith will be playing a mix of original songs both old and new. Smiths current set focuses on material drawn from his second solo album titled 'Letting go' which was released in March of this year.
