Welcome to 2024!

Wednesday 31st January 2024

From the Committee!

Welcome everyone and Happy New Year. Your Committee is back in action, refreshed after a short break. Reports from our Whare Flat Festival director, Stephen, are that this year’s event was a great success with great camaraderie, amazing music and solid feedback. The Festival Exec won’t be resting for long though as each event takes most of the next year to manage and plan.

Closer to home, we have an exciting start to the Club year with a range of international and home grown artists lined up to entertain you. Our new Artist Liaison – John – has plans to bring some fresh local artists through our doors as well. He is asking for expressions of interest from our music community if any of our contacts would like to do a concert spot, share a night with another artist or just maybe do a few songs as a first half warm up act. The Club has many opportunities for those wishing to perform whether you’re an accomplished artist or a bit shy but would like to give it a go. If you’re more of the latter then our Thursday night Open Mic nights could be a good place to start. These nights are warm and inviting and a safe place to build confidence on stage. However, if you don’t play or sing – all performers need an audience so all music lovers are welcome at our Sunday and Thursday nights, you won’t be disappointed.
