2pm- 3.30pm - Americana open mic led by Steve Barkman
Steve will have some of our well known performers of Americana music pre-arranged but space will be available for others to do their favourite/s

4pm - 5.30pm - 'Bar session'- led by Vic McDonald
The Bar Session will be a gathering of singers who will sing together, unaccompanied , the "Old Songs" and some newer, of trad-type folk songs. The singers will be "in the round and each will get to choose the song in turn. The songs will be those which have singable choruses: think Stephen Foster, Irish, Scottish, English trad, Steeleye, Unthanks and so on. We will use the system outlined above which we have used with success at Whare Flat Festival for many years.

Sunday 26th April
11am – 12.30pm - Liar's Lunch (open mic) – hosted by Martin Curtis

For as long as our club has existed bush poetry has been a component of many festivals throughout the country. If you haven't heard any of these before you're in for a treat. Bring your own lunch along and contribute to, or just listen to, tall stories and bush poetry.
1pm- 2.30pm - 60s 70s folk revival session led by Phil Corfield
A Sing-a-Long of well known songs, mainly from the 1960s and 1970s, with the option to bring along an instrument, and play as well. Some giant sheets will be used and A4 sheets will be provided.
3pm - 6pm Concert - "Why Folk"
As the major event for members of our whole weekend of celebrations, we are running a concert from the afternoon through the evening with a break for dinner. Each act will do two numbers with talk about "why folk music". That may mean why they are attracted to folk music, why they wanted to join a folk club, why they think of themself as a folk musician or whatever take they may have on it. Audience can come and go – no need to stay for the whole event.
3.30 - 5.30pm - Celtic session (at Inch bar – Gardens Corner) In recognition of the 50th anniversary of the Dunedin Folk Club, May's Inch Bar Session is being brought forward to Sunday 26th April. The Inch Bar session is an "open session" meaning all players of appropriate instruments are welcome; and if you want to start your tune playing journey, you could do a lot worse than downloading Begged, Borrowed and Stolen (just Google it) as most of these tunes are common to sessions worldwide. Anyone is welcome to come along and listen.
6 - 7.30pm - Catered dinner for Life Members and invited guests.
7.30 – 10pm Concert continued - "Why Folk"

Cash bar and cafe available at all events.
