Irish Night

If you look up Irish folk music on Wikipedia you get many paragraphs of information, too much to reproduce here. It talks of solo singing (often a capella) and occasionally a group; instruments such as the uillean pipes, the harp and the fiddle being paramount; dance music (jigs, slip jigs and reels) and slow airs. Expect all of this on March 15th, two days ahead of St Patrick's Day, with a bunch of the blarney thrown in brought to you by a selection of our great club performers.

Organised by committee member Bernadette Berry.

Did you know what Ireland does to support its performers and tradition keepers?

  • Artists in Ireland can recieve a basic income of €325 per week.
  • Performers can also apply for touring grants.
